The project case study is designed to demonstrate the students ability to:

Identify ones roles and responsibilities as a global citizen in personal and professional life. Analyze the use of the worlds resources to achieve sustainability and equitable distribution at the personal, professional, and global level This will be an individual project requiring each student to use what they have learned so far in the course and apply that knowledge to the given case study. Each student is required to submit a 1,500-word paper, including a title page, table of contents, introduction, analysis, and conclusion. The title page and table of contents are not included in the word count.

Please make sure you answer all questions and use titles and subtitles in the body of report for ease of reference. The report should be professional and absent of spelling and grammar errors. Students are required to use APA format and must be written in your own words. The Turnitin Similarity Index of your report should be less than 25%.

Submission Please submit your completed project case study on eCentennial to the GC&E Project - Case Study Folder which is located under Assessment in the top navigation bar. Please name the file using your last and first name and the title. For example: smithjulieGC&Eproject. Always keep a copy of yourself.

Instructions For this project case study, you are required to choose a company that values or appears to value sustainability and ethical practices, conduct online research on that company, and then prepare a report that includes the following information:

1. An overview of the companys values and practices as they pertain to sustainability and ethical practices

2. A detailed description of the companys:

Sustainable sourcing strategies. This can be an existing strategy or one that is in the process of implementation. Sustainable product and/or packaging design. Be sure to include specific examples. Using Table 4.1 on page 116 of the textbook, describe any of The Ethical Trading Initiatives Base Code clauses the company may currently use. If the company does not practice any of these clauses, choose 2 or 3 of the clauses that you believe the company should practice and why youve chosen those particular clauses. 3. A detailed description of the companys:

Sustainable manufacturing processes. This can be an existing strategy or one that is in the process of implementation. Sustainability processes for manufacturing waste and recycling. 4. A detailed description of how the practices being implemented by your chosen company can be applied to the small framing company youve been working for in the learning journey you are following on e-centennial. Be sure to include a discussion on the following topics. If your chosen company does not use all three, be sure to discuss why the small framing company should use these practices.

Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing Early Supplier Involvement Strategic Alliance Development 5. A detailed description of how your chosen company uses benchmarking to measure the success of their sustainability and ethical initiatives. If you are unable to find specific information on which benchmarking tools the company uses, describe what benchmarking measures the company should use to measure its success.

6. Conclusion

Provide a brief but effective summary of the information provided in the body of the report and discuss if, in your opinion, the company has succeeded in their sustainable and ethical objectives. Discuss any strategies or initiatives that the company has not implemented, that you may think would be a good strategy for the companys long-term sustainability. Once you have chosen a company, you must email your choice to the professor so it can be approved. This process ensures that there is a variety of companies chosen for this project.
