The project is to design an interactive product for online Trip planner. There are many websites/mobile applications available for Trip planner but it can be awkward and frustrating to identify how to turn your road trip into an adventure, most suitable, and cost-effective.Its help you to plan your vacation or road trip with the best travel planner for marking routes ,plans, and maps with your friends, on web or in a mobile app. Trip planner design involves planning, selecting, organizing and arranging (layout) the typography, photographs, graphics, illustrations, colors, and videos of website/ apps, input accommodation /transport/itinerary details, Share trips with others. Forward confirmation emails (e.g. flight/hotels) to have it automatically added to your itinerary or any other professional services such as sends you real time alerts, so you know whether your flight is on time or delayed and notification provide upto date terminal and gate info, guidance to your connections gate ...etc.It is important to arrange the material on a website page, according to main options and graphical guidelines and goals. The Main goals may include searching of location, exploring the activities, Input destination(s), dates and number of people, generates suggested itineraries and Suggests sightseeing locations and activities, while graphical considerations include beautiful and clear photos, and balanced incorporation of video or text.
The project submission requirements are as follows:For the teams which should contain 4 students.
You should submit your team members list that should include the names and ids by filling the project list in TEAMs to the course instructor .
[10 Points] PART (1)Develop a storyboard prototype for the task of browsing of all sections of the Trip planner website/application. You should in your storyboard convey proper setting, sequence, and satisfaction. Also, you should consider in your story the situation that currently bothers Trip planner website/application users and how your design solves it.
[20 Points] PART (2)The submission of this part is hand sketching document and power-point document Develop a card-based prototypes using both hand sketching [6 points] and power point [14points] to specify the GUI of the main tasks of Trip planner website/application You should design the first main page and additional five pages that can be accessed through links from the main page to support at least three operations supported by the Trip planner website/application that two of the operations are: plan the trips(with all sub-operations of plan trips such as searching of location, exploring the activities, Input destination(s), dates and number of people, generates suggested itinerary and Suggests sightseeing locations and activities, input accommodation /transport/itinerary details...etc.) , Alerts(Alerts and updates )and create account to mange the Travel Stats (your yearly and cumulative totals ) , point Tracker (Monitor your loyalty program and rewards ), Safety (get personalized alerts) , Travel Documents (Passport, visa ,driver license, etc.) Also, make sure while designing the application to employ at least three of Jakob Nielsen’s Design Heuristics (one per category), one important usability goals, one important user experience goal, Form-Fill in guidelines, Visual Design Guidelines, communication with a customer, expressive and persuasive interface.
[10 Points] PART (3)Suggest two different conceptual models for this system. You should consider each of the aspects of a conceptual model: interface metaphor, interaction type, and interface type. Of these conceptual models, decide which one seems most appropriate and articulate the reasons why
