1. Choose a change that you believe is necessary for your organization/department/team;

2. Clearly articulate your vision (desirable future state);

3. Explain the forces driving that change;

4. Explore possible barriers to making the change;

5. Decide how organizational systems and culture will affect your change effort;

6. Discuss potential resistance to this change;

7. Develop a strategy for accomplishing the change, using Kotter’s eight-stage process;

8. Describe how you will influence others to support the change.
