Garza-Rodriguez, J., Ayala-Diaz, G. A., Coronado-Saucedo, G. G., Garza-Garza, E. G., & Ovando-Martinez, O. (2021). Determinants of poverty in Mexico: A quantile regression analysis.Economies,9(2), 1-24.https://doi.org/10.3390/economies9020060

This article analyzes and provides insight into the poverty determinants affecting a family's economic position in Mexico based on income. It references the World Bank's information on Mexico's financial position, and despite this, most of its population lives in poverty. Different factors affect the income that a household can access, fostering economic inequality within the population, and it does this by using the information from the Mexican National Household Income and Expenditure Survey.

The first topic discussed in the article is the inequality of economic distribution, meaning that the distribution is not the same due to determinants. The second one is the importance of considering determinants of poverty because the financial position of a family might be affected; for example, families with younger, higher education that live in urban places possess a higher income compared to those whose primary income source is from an elderly, woman or single, an indigenous person, among others, have higher scores on poverty. Lastly, they provide the limitations of other models used when studying Mexico's poverty compared to the quantile regression they use that explains the different variables of affection and the importance of considering the determinants to end poverty.

Lora, E. (2020). Poverty trap in Mexico, 1992-2016.International Journal of Development Issues,19(3), 277-301.https://doi.org/10.1108/IJDI-11-2019-0192

This article analyzes how Mexico's poverty rate has not changed during its time, considering the economic growth it might have had in one area yet also inviting the consideration that expenditures have increased and that the methods and policies implemented are not providing results in improving to reduce the poverty population and shows how the methods implemented are at a slow rate.

The first view they provide is how Mexico divides its economy and tries to view it from a multidimensional and household income context. Secondly, they talk about how, statistically, they are no longer providing a reduction effect, showing that government efforts are not enough to reduce the poverty situation and that there is an existent cycle that doesn't allow progress. Lastly, they provide an insight into how there is a growth in poverty due to inequality, and they introduce the culture of poverty as one of the main reasons not to succeed, meaning that generations discourage and have adapted to live in poverty without seeking growth.

Barahona, I. (2018). Poverty in Mexico: Its relationship to social and cultural indicators.Social Indicators Research,135(2), 599-627.https://doi.org/10.1007/s11205-016-1510-3

This article provides a multidimensional study of the poverty in Mexico; they analyze the relationship between the economic situation in this country and social and cultural indications, such as the lack of positive results in tourist areas and how income is not the only consideration that should be taken in account to determine the economic situation of Mexico, they introduce the concept of functionings referring to personal goals and united them with the term capabilities which refers to the access to information on well-being.

The first topic they speak about is understanding how what they refer to as functions and capabilities should be considered when determining poverty, having it viewed as an inclusive and intersectional approach. They also show how inequality levels exist using a Gini coefficient, which shows the increase and distribution during the years in Mexicos value, not on the population nor the access to information that allows you to foster an economic education but benefiting municipalities' growth. Lastly, they also analyzed how inequality harmed growth rates to provide a complete understanding.
