It is important to know that as behavior analysts we must assess interventions considering the client's unique needs, cultural background, history, and environment. For this reason, data collection and constant monitoring are essential. They allow us to evaluate whether the intervention is effective and socially valid. Sometimes, implementing an intervention is truly challenging. For example, we know that an intervention is excellent and has made incredible changes in certain clients. However, if the data shows that it is not working for a specific client, we must eliminate it. We must always be attentive to prioritizing ethical practices and the client's respect first. This question reminds me of the ethical principle of doing no harm and how crucial it is to avoid using overly intrusive procedures when we have other positive options available. We need to be clear that one-size-fits-all interventions are no longer acceptable. As a future analyst, I believe this question will be important to my work.
