The second chapter tasks students with considering whether purchasing from outside companies is always the right decision $($termed the Make$-$or$-$Buy decision$).$ Companies often use benefits of buying and building$/$making as these decisions are generally not mutually exclusive. Students will read textbook Chapter $2$ to establish an understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of buying or outsourcing. Students will research Amazon's decision to add internal capabilities to their existing array of logistics vendors.

A brief analysis of findings is the assignment for this module $(2-4$ pages single spaced including any graphs, graphics or charts$).$ Grading is based on professional level writing and analysis that accurately applies Chapter $2$ concepts to applicable strategic decisions at Amazon.
