The Simple Model of Communication

Change is a complex, contentious process, one that must be managed effectively in order to best achieve its objectives. One of the components managers must consider when managing change is to communicate change broadly and in sufficient detail so that employees are not only included in the change process, but their hopes and fears are taken into context. With that as a background, please respond to the following:

• Provide a brief overview of the principal components of Shannon and Weavers model of interpersonal communication.
• Determine the stage of the communication model that presents the greatest challenge to most leaders and managers along with a strategy that leaders and managers should consider overcoming this challenge.
