The student will develop five math activities suitable for children 3 - 5 years of age. REQUIREMENTS These five math activities must be ready for children to use in a childcare centre. Each activity must be based on a different fundamental math concept. Students are to photograph each math activity with all required information and materials visible, and copy the images onto Power Point Slides one for each activity to be presentated. Students must review all classmates' math presentations. 1. Each student will develop five math activities that contain materials necessary for children to learn one of the fundamental math concepts. 2. Each of the five activities will focus on a different fundamental math concept (counting, numbers, seriation, classification, one-to-one correspondence, patterning, comparing, etc.) 3. Each activity will be put into a container, such as a Ziploc freezer bag, and will contain the following: o All materials for the activity o An activity card - 4" X 6" (or similar) with the following information written neatly on it: Name of the activity The list of materials in the package The instructions or directions for the activity 4. On the outside of each package, the student will write the name of the activity, which fundamental math concept it is based on, the student's name, student #, instructor's name, date, and module name and number. 5.
