The time period that we have studied in this module is referred to as the Middle Ages the Dark Ages, or Medieval Times. However, we have learned that referring to this time period as the "Dark Ages " is actually problematic for a variety of reasons . Namely calling this time period "dark " is Eurocentric and negates the achievements that were occurring all over the globe . All around the world civilizations and societies continued to thrive during this time period . There were advancements and learning occurring in Asia Africa ,the Americas , and the Middle East during the centuries (600 -1450 CE ) we studied in this module For this discussion you are to complete some outside research and determine what you believe to be the most important or interesting advancement or discovery that occurred in the world outside of Europe during the time period explored in this module Remember, this module only covers the years of 600-1450 CE, so you need to make sure your discussion is tailored to that time period .
