Organization example: The following is an example of the academic organization, i.e., university.

Universities: Take the example of any public university in Saudi Arabia, say KKU. KKU has a large number of students, teachers, and employees. Its community colleges spread across the Asir region. KKU has a strong facility of IT infrastructure (data center) and also allows its computing resources remotely. The authorized users able to access different KKU database applications in a distributed environment over the network. Let consider the present trouble situation (due to corona virus), the access to databases has been increased enormously and the system performance has lower down due to the excessive access. Assumed that you are the database developer or DBA and trying to analyze the issues that were neglected during the development of distributed database systems.

Required:

Identify and describe the type of database management systems that KKU is required for its

data management needs considering all community colleges.

Write the names of at least two commercial vendors who provide different versions of

database management software. Give the reasons why you have selected these vendors.

Discuss major factors causing performance efficiency of these database management

systems.
