The first problem is the security breach. And this is tow solutions for problem
And the other problem is Yahoo was secretly sharing information with Chinese.
And this is short term solution for this problem
So, what is the effect of each solution (long and short term) on each stakeholder?
SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEM 1 Yahoo must admit their mistake of not having a strong system that permits the hackers from reaching the customers and employees information, and they must apologize from them. Yahoo must compensate their stakeholders, and they must improve their security and work on it in order for the users to use Yahoo, and so that hackers won't be able to hack yahoo easily again. They must apply a strict and complicated program that would make their systems difficult to access by hackers in order to prevent the users' information and to improve their reputation. Also, they must improve their security system and ensure to notify the users whenever there is someone trying to access their account. Yahoo must update the users accounts, passwords and other information. Yahoo must constantly monitor their systems to avoid any upcoming threats. Yahoo can improve their customer service by responding to the customers having any issues and reply in the best way, and help them solve any problem to ensure their satisfaction. They must show their customers that this problem will not occur again. Yahoo must have a proactive planning regarding hacks which is to move faster by making the knowledge public to all stakeholders if a hack exists. Yahoo must have this categorical duty applied "respond quickly" to show that they are a responsible and ethical company. LONG TERM SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEM 1 Yahoo must learn from their mistake and study very well how to avoid another breach from occurring in order to be prepared whenever it happens again in the future. Yahoo should integrate cybersecurity into their objectives and define it in their organizational culture. They must apply the two-step verification when signing in. Also, encryption is important to prevent unauthorized access which is the process of converting the readable data to encoded characters, so that humans won't be able to read or understand. The encrypted messages that are sent will not be read and will be decrypted when the user receives the message by using his/her private key. This will prevent the hackers from accessing the users' information and emails. Also, the digital signature is a code that is encrypted in which a person or a website attaches an electronic message to verify the identity of the person sending a message. Yahoo must obtain a digital certificate showing and guaranteeing that website or the user is safe and legitimate. By including encryption Yahoo will be seen as a secure site. Yahoo's actions are seeming to be scandal so Yahoo's steps to solve this problem: they should notice that the security hack or lack of security to personal information led to the occurrence of social ethics because the company is socially responsible about the issue since it didn't only affect a specific stakeholder but instead it affected both users and staff as a whole so the company would be judged from a social perspective. By recognizing that they had affected the society, Yahoo should use practical reasoning which is what the company must/should do in this situation for solving the problem, they should have an intelligence service such as having a quick response in detecting hacks systems which would also help in reducing breaching. 3, 2021 at 6:05 PM SHORT-TERM SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEM 2 Yahoo must apologize from the Chinese dissidents and all the users, and try to explain their action and tell the people why they did it whether they were pressured or did it with no pressure, in order gain back the user's trust by being honest and to become a transparent company. Moreover, Yahoo must compensate the journalist's family that was poorly affected, and help them financially. Yahoo must ensure having information privacy which is the right of the companies or individuals to deny the use, gathering or spreading of information about them. They must prove to the users that they wouldn't do this again no matter what.
