There are two PDF articles in this week's module (see Content tab). One is "Why We Hate HR" and the other is "Why We (Shouldn't) Hate HR. The first has been around for over 10 years and is still frequently referenced. Five years later, a response from Harvard Business Review came out, espousing the potential value of HR. We still have a little left this semester, but I think we're far enough along to ask: Now that you've had some exposure to HR, what are your thoughts? Does HR help? Do you want to work in HR? Is HR simply a necessary evil? Are HR people competent? Read the two articles and let us know about your experiences, expectations, and perception of HR. You are welcome to offer advice to the profession as well as defend it. Of course and as always, citations tend to impress your professors.
