These BDS modules focus on understanding and breaking down variables and single-case experimental designs. In D.1, Part 1, we had to define and identify independent variables as factors manipulated in an experiment and dependent variables as the outcomes that were measured. Part 2 focused on arranging IVs to observe their effects on DVs. Part 3 touched on reviewing and interpreting existing literature to clarify the difference between IVs and DVs. D.6, Part 1, we had to apply our understanding of methodology and data presentation. We evaluated data graphs and determined how effective interventions were. D.6, Part 2, was the most challenging for me. It required a more complex data set and the ability to identify patterns with less guidance. Overall, the modules helped build my knowledge in experimental design and data analysis. I do feel more confidence in evaluating interventions.
