These blood test values will be used to compute the BFI Risk Indicator for Cardiac Disease. The BFI (Bright Fictional Index) has not, nor will it ever be clinically validated for legitimate medical use. Risk points are assigned based on the categorization of each value associated with common blood tests (TC, HDL, LDL and triglycerides). Each value in the file is categorized and the risk points are summed and then multiplied by a blood pressure factor to determine the BFI. The BFI is then categorized to produce a risk value of Low, Moderate, Elevated or High to indicate the likelihood the patient will develop cardiac disease. Avoid mixed mode calculations. Details on categorizations are provide below.
Create a report of the data which includes diagnosis and calculate risks. The report should be displayed on the screen. Each patient record takes two lines on the report. The first line is the raw data, calculated BFI and risk. The wing is included as a part of the room number. The second line is the diagnosis of each test result. Note, the diagnosis is right justified one character to the right of the columized test data. A blank line separates patient records. A summary indicating the number of patients categorized within each risk follows the patient data section of the report.
