If you really dig in to these representations, it is ciear that some traits can be mirrored in a team. Strong leadership is positive when present. Micromanagement is a negative when present. Communication is the most prominent example of this phenomenon - it splits both axes. This graph only considers the top 5 in each category. This assignment (GBU, which you've probably figured out by now is all about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly again) is designed to get everyone thinking about creating a charter for a team that will foster the Good and minimize (or eliminate) the Ugly Does it surprise you that competency, skill, or expertise donit show up? Prompt Based on the GBU quadrant (second graph), choose 3 positive and 3 negative traits. For each of the 6 items you have chosen, formulate a rule that could be included in a team charter to encourage or discourage that trait Focus on SMART criteria for your rules: Specific Avoid wishy-washy language - be direct Measurable Aim for rules that have an associated metric-something you can count Attainable Be realistic-don't create a standard that is impossible to reach Relevant Attach your rule to the trait - make sure what you recommend will have appropriate impact Timely Regular and repeated behaviors in time are significant for suocess - include this concept in your rules. After the Wednesday deadline, read through all posts and critically evaluate at least 2 positive trait and 2 negative trait rules. Identify: 1. Which rule you are evaluating. 2.
