Business to Business (B2B) selling only.
o Ensure they sell B2B. Check out their career or job listings for Business to Business selling jobs. You will need a job description to add to Major Selling Project Part 1 coming up so flag one when you find it.
Product/service you would sell. Remember a product/service that solves a business problem is the ideal.
Then select the business customer account you will sell that product/service to.
Publicly traded companies websites will have the most useful information. As they must provide data for investors, they make the best choices for ease of data gathering. Be sure to review the Week 3 Extra announcement - Who should you sell to? and the Structure of Corporations.
Want to go private? Must have a robust website or they are too small for this project.
Look for Leadership/Management team listed (for who you will work for and who you will sell to)..Cant find them? Move on to a bigger company.
Avoid selections where you would sell to a reseller ie Whirlpool appliances to Best Buy for resale. These are often too complex for most students.
Do not choose Federal Government departments as your prospective customer. They have a specialized buying process that is more complex than we will cover in the course.
