This $39-$year$-$old patient returns to the office today because of a defect on the nail of his left big toe. He was seen three times in the last four months for this problem. This defect is very suspicious, and I felt it best to biopsy a portion of the nail plate and bed. The sample was sent to pathology. I told the patient that he will be called with the results, and then I will decide how to proceed.
