This activity is important because you will go through the organizational socialization process at each and every company you work for in your career. Organizational socialization is the process by which you will learn your new organization$$s values, norms, and required behaviors$$the things that allow you to participate as a member of the company. The process can take a long time and it occurs in three primary phases:

anticipatory,

encounter, and

change and acquisition.
