This are required to collect and interpret data about a company of his/her own choice.
The sources for data are:
Annual reports, investor presentations, press releases
Major daily business newspapers and weekly/monthly magazines (e.g. Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Economist and Business Week). FT, WSJ and Economist are available via Bilgi Library. Business Week is free online.
Therefore the first step is to choose a company, i.e. a publicly traded company so that you will have access to annual reports, etc. Some suggested industries are: Home Appliances, Retail Chains, GSM Operators, Banks, Insurance Companies (especially non-life (general) insurance companies), Carriers (Airlines, Freight Companies), Motor Vehicles, Home Furniture, Health Services, Hospitality Services.
I strongly suggest that you pick an industry and then choose a company with publicly available information.
You should then put together a database (list with categorical description of actions, such as product, promotion, channel, etc) for the collected information about the company. Make sure to select 5 strategic actions. You can go back as far as 5 years.
Finally, use the guidelines to complete the slides.
