This assessment tests your ability to identify all qualitative and quantitative factors influencing productivity in your work station, at Ford Motor Company, TCF area and identify factors that could be adjusted to solve productivity problems. To meet the required level of competency you must be assessed as meeting the standard in all criteria of the assessment matrix.
i. Create a list of the qualitative and quantitative factors that influence productivity in your work station, you must be specific, it is not sufficient just to say "labour", you should list things like workforce knowledge and skill resulting from training and experience, employee moral, quality of management practices, work methods etc...
ii. For each of the factors you identified explain how that factor influences productivity and profitability and how (if at all) it could be adjusted to improve productivity.
Remember: productivity is a ratio, therefore the denominator (input) must decrease relative to the nominator (output), for example, more training will only increase productivity if the resulting rise in profit exceeds the extra expenditure on training!
iii. In Activity 1c you identified all the sources of waste in your work station, next to each source of waste explain what adjustments could be made to which inputs in order to minimise or eliminate that waste.
iv. For each adjustable input explain how making adjustments would influence other inputs.
This assessment tests your ability to identify all qualitative and quantitative
