This assignment addresses Course Objectives 3, 4, and 5.

Pick a topic related to virtual and global teams that interests you and explore it further in 6-10 pages.

Sample topics:

• use of technology among virtual teams
• team-based rewards and recognition programs (incentives)
• characteristics of effective leaders of virtual teams
• use of virtual teams in global corporations, or use of virtual teams in institution-based settings (medical centers, universities, government agencies)
• theories of virtual team development
• What is the likely impact of hybrid or 4-day work weeks or more virtual work policy for team projects --advantages and disadvantages?
• Should HR departments stress the importance of project software such as Microsoft Teams or Monday.com or Project Management or expand the use of Excel? Summarize the features of your favorite project software and explain the advantages of a software package for team useas well as disadvantages.
• Identify and discuss the trends in your chosen topic area.

Support your opinions and statements with a minimum of 7 (seven) references from sources published within the last ten years, which emphasizes academic sources, but may also include 1-4 practitioner sources.

Integrate or include appropriate concepts and theories from course content over the semester. You may find week 3, week 4, week 8, and week 9 content especially useful. These weeks cover the topics of performance, team technology, boundary management, and team leadership. For instance, you might explore the issues of positional team leadership versus a shared team lead model. You are not required to use any of these suggestions, but your essay should include aspects of analysis and not just descriptive summaries of articles.

You are to have in-text citations in the paper, which means that important points are supported through published materials. You are also to use of the parens marks-- ( ) in the main sections of the paper, with either the authors last name or keywords from the article title inside the marks. You are to include a reference list for your essay.

Use APA format, rules published in the 7^th edition, for all citations, references, and quotations.

Length and format: Your paper should be 6-10 pages (not counting the cover or reference pages), double-spaced with one-inch margins, and a font size of at least 11 points.

Writing should be direct and clear. Keep in mind that shorter sentences--those without semi-colons--often work best. Write a 1-idea paragraph. Take time to edit. Editing time should equal the time spent for researching useful information/sources on the topic.
