Question: This assignment aims at using and implementing activity analysis based on the observation and assessment of the student s daily work routine. 1 . Planning.

This assignment aims at using and implementing activity analysis based on the observation and assessment of the students daily work routine.
1. Planning. Identify a regular workday of the week and expected work times. In the case that the student works, studies, or both, select a workday with a regular work routine. For example, the student knows that Tuesday is an average workday with a schedule between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. Notice that the minimum amount of time for this assignment is eight consecutive work hours. Do not include before or after work tasks. (10 points)
2. Data collection. For each hour, record the tasks that you perform and the time invested in each task. For each hour of observation, assign one of the seven work categories of activity analysis to each performed task, and the corresponding time in quarters and fractions. For example, between 8am and 9am the student in this class:
prepared, enjoyed, and cleaned after two cups of coffee for 7 minutes each (1 quarter of waste/personal time);
started the computer (an old model that takes 9 minutes to start); during that time the student was actively preparing for work by reading the assignment (1/2 quarter of preparatory work and instructions);
spent 19 minutes actively typing the assignment (1 quarter active work);
spent a total of 12 minutes with social media (3/4 quarter of waste/personal); and,
took a 6-minute break (1/2 quarter of waste/personal). Present two tables: 1) for every hour, the sequential record of tasks including the time consumed per task, and, 2) for every hour, the corresponding categorization of work time.

3. Data analysis. First, analyze the activity analysis data by identifying and computing key metrics. As an example, compute % of work time per each of the 7 categories, and/or analyze variation of time spent on each work-category through your workday. Support your analysis with graphics and charts. Use red font to identify key metrics.
Second, provide key insights in a bullet point format -1 bullet point per idea.
Criticize your production by responding to questions such as:
What is your direct work?
What influences your direct work? What are your gaps in production, if any?
What are the causes (e.g. relate to the record of tasks in 1.)?
What could you do differently during your workday to improve direct work? How much should you expect to improve your direct work?
How does your production vary during the day? Any other insights?
