This assignment asks you to think about and research an initial idea. As part of your overall market research, you need to look at what else already exists and what purpose it is serving and for whom. Write a discussion post that provides the following information: A brief written summary of your app, what it does, and what your current name for it is (1-3 sentences) Paint a picture with words: what would your app look like? (i.e. colors, images) How would users get around the app and move from place to place? (i.e. what kinds of things are they clicking and tapping, or swiping and selecting?) (2-3 sentences) Your app might have competition! Look for, find, and write up a brief summary of another app that already exists that does something similar to your app idea. Write about why your app is different, why you think your app is necessary, and why it is an improvement or is a change in some significant way from what already exists. Provide the name of the other app and say where you found it. (1-3 sentences) Your app is not going to exist in a vacuum! It will exist in the real world in which we have laws, regulations, and morals/values. Think and write about the positive contributions this app will make to the world and which populations it will help. Are there any potential negatives about your app? Will it hurt anyone? If you are having issues thinking about the negatives, then play Devils Advocate and pretend to be a person who is in opposition to your app idea. Write about why they oppose it. (3-5 sentences)
