Assignment Value
The value of this individual assignment is 40%. Part A is worth 20% and Part B is worth 20%.
Assignment Instructions
In this assignment, each student will be required to conduct a risk assessment (Part A) to determine their own top 5 risks that they will face as a student attending Fanshawe College including Academic Integrity. The identified risks will then be categorized under one of the four high-level categories of risk (aka risk quadrants/categories). At least one of the five risks must be identified for each of the four high-level categories of risk. Following are the risk categories (page 17 of your textbook); Compliance (or mandatory) risks Hazard (or pure) risks Control (or uncertainty) risks Opportunity (or speculative) risks
The next step (Part B) will be to decide on the best risk response for each of the 5 risks that have been identified and assessed. Include an explanation outlining why the chosen risk response is the best decision to address that risk.
Part A
Individual students will identify risks and apply risk assessment to their role as a student at Fanshawe College.
Select a total of 5 risks and explain how the risk applies to you (50 Marks) Compliance (or Mandatory) Risk i) Description of risk and how it affects you ii) Explain why it is a Compliance risk Hazard (or Pure) Risk i) Description of risk and how it affects you ii) Explain why it is a Hazard risk Control (or uncertainty) Risk i) Description of risk and how it affects you ii) Explain why it is a Control risk Opportunity (or Speculative) Risk i) Description of risk and how it affects you ii) Explain why it is an Opportunity risk
Part B
Individual students will write out their plan on how they will address their own unique risks in Part 1.
Decide on the best Risk Response for each risk and explain why in detail. (60 marks)
Students should consider likelihood and impact interactions to list the 5 risks and their responses in a cascading hierarchy in a Risk Register. The risks and their responses should be listed in the order of the student feels the greatest threat to his/her experience at Fanshawe College to the least threat to their experience at Fanshawe College. This risks are also to be plotted on a Risk Map. There are templates provided for both the Risk Register and the Risk Map. Remember that each risk can have multiple risk responses!
For each of your 5 risks i) Explain why each of the risks impact and likelihood is a concern to you as a student ii) Identify the best risk response(s) to address the risk
