This assignment will be done in your groups and will involve a PowerPoint presentation (or similar presentation method) and must include written notes and citations with submission. The assignment:
You and your group will reverse engineer an organization, product, service, or brands new marketing mix to determine they why and how behind their marketing choices. Reverse engineering is the act of analyzing an existing system, process or structure and using the knowledge gained from that analysis to recreate a duplicate or similar system.(SEOSiteCheckUp,2022) Keep in mind this does not mean you are reinventing the wheel. It simply means you are trying to figure out what theyve done so that you can do it better in the future.
Here are your steps to follow and your guide to formatting this presentation and its contents:
Presentation Slide 1: Introduce yourself and your group mates. Include your names and student numbers on the title slide. You can use this slide template or create your own.
Presentation Slide 2: This step will require you to provide proper APA citations for your sources. Choose a story about an organization, product, service, or brand that has appeared in the news within the last 30 days. Provide a brief summary of the main points of the article. This story must meet all the following criteria:
It must have a marketing focus
It must come from a credible source (see a list of suggestions at the end of this outline)
It must include a change being made in any one of the four areas of the organization/brand/product or services current marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion)

Presentation Slide 3: This step will require you to provide proper APA citations for your sources. Identify the marketing mix for the organization, product, service, or brand highlighted in your article. Provide specific information about each of the four elements of the marketing mix. For example:
Product/Service: What is the company offering? What form does it take? How will it be packaged? How much of the product/service will they offer? Remember here that a product can be tangible or intangible.
Place: Where, when, and how often is this product/service available for sale? How will the product/service be delivered to customers? Is there a way to return it if necessary?
Price: What is the actual price to customers for the product/service? How will the customer pay for the product/service? Are financing options available? Are discounts or other combination prices available to consumers?
Promotion: How does the company communicate the value of this product/service to customers? Be specific when describing the various methods of promotion used to communicate the companys message to customers. When and where will this communication occur?
Presentation Slide 4: This change is making the news for a reason. Identify the element(s) of the marketing mix that have been changed. Explain why you believe the company made these choices what were they trying to accomplish by doing so? What advantage will they have over their competition if they are successful in their efforts? Answer each of these questions in detail.
Presentation Slide 5: Identify their target market. Create a customer persona of who you believe to be their ideal typical customer. Be sure to include demographic, geographic, behavioural, and psychographic descriptors in your persona profile. What influence will this change have on customer behaviour?
Presentation Slide 6: This step will require you to provide proper APA citations for your sources. What changes in the market created the need for this new strategy? Was it a change in customer segments? A change in the industry? A change in price or cost? A change in features or availability? A change in the industry? Or was it a combination of factors? Provide proof or support for your determination.
Presentation Slide 7: What objective is the company trying to reach? What does the company hope to achieve by making this change? Be specific in your description. Simply stating to increase sales is not enough. Be prepared to defend your choice.
Presentation Slide 8: Now pretend you are their competition. How would you do this better? Why? Whats missing from their new strategy?
Presentation Slide 9: Complete list of APA citations. Please note that all citations will be checked for accuracy and validity.
