This capstone project explores the impact of technological integration on workforce adaptability and production efficiency at Kolomela Mine, a leading iron ore open$-$cast mine in South Africa$$s Northern Cape Province. With the mining industry rapidly adopting innovations such as automation, AI$,$ and IoT, understanding their influence on employee adaptability and operational performance is critical.

Kolomela Mine is implementing advanced technologies like automated machinery, AI$-$driven operational management, and real$-$time monitoring to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve safety. However, these advancements pose challenges in workforce adaptation and maintaining efficient production processes. This study investigates these dynamics, using Kolomela Mine as a case study to uncover broader implications for the mining sector.
