This code uses a while loop in MATLAB to fill up an empty array of only poaitive numbers. Can you please explain the purpose of havinf "posName" within the array. I have my pointer right under it

I do understand why posNums is in the array posNums

posNums inutNum

; if posNums doesnt have a value attached to it

Couldnt i just put inputNum? Why is this important? Please explain in detail. Im a visual learner so breaking thia down in cose would be helpful thanks.
