THIS IS A ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR question. The
Purposes of this assignment include practice with: storytelling and use of story frameworks and methods; presenting authoritatively, i.e. 'as an expert;' and learning more, and more in-depth, about a business problem or opportunity of interest to you and/or your team. Together with your team, start by doing any necessary 'reframing' of the original question, to make it clearer and/or more actionable and researchable. If necessary, consider making the scope of the question more narrow. Broad questions call for broad answers that may be beyond the scope of this assignment. Narrower questions-as long as they are not so narrow as to restrict the possible solution set, are usually more actionable. Problem framing, however, is not the focus of this assignmentreframe the question only as/if required. Please use at least three external references. They do not necessarily have to be scientific research (i.e. peer-reviewed research, as you will find on scholar.google.com), but of course, the more reputable and authoritative, the better. Use these to get ideas, or to form the basis of recommendations, or to support or provide proof of the validity of your recommendations. A few publications that are research-based, but still practical, include: MIT Sloan Review; Business Horizons; California Management Review; Harvard Business Review; Academy of Management Perspectives; Business Horizons; Organizational Dynamics, and Journal of Applied Psychology. You can also use periodicals or newspapers-Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, New Yorker, etc. One key for success here, is to use good search terms. The most common mistakes of non-researchers, when doing research work, include:1) their initial questions are much too broad, or2) they give up too soon-regardless of what your topic is, I promise you there are many, many relevant studies and articles out there-all you need to do is find them. Reference librarians are available online, and can help you in your search. Of course you can also send me an email as you narrow down and settle on an issue/opportunity to work on. This assignment makes use of research, but it's not a research project. We don't want to just knoy about the issue, we want to know what we should do-recommendations for actions to take/avoid, what to sayot say, etc. Get some practice with presenting confidently, as an expert. Later we will touch on the topic of 'executive presence' and presenting confidently is one important part of presence. Sometimes, when presenting to your class members, there's a tendency to present very informally, which is fine, but this is an opportunity to practice presenting authoritatively. For this assignment, please follow this 'pyramid' outline: (see posted reference materials on SCOA and the pyramid structure) 1. Title page-indicating what the presentation will cover. This should informative (and preferably interesting) for the audience. 2. SCQ-Situation, complication, central question you will address 3. Overall recommendation (the 'Answer' or " A " of "SCQA") 4. The next three pages, should be either a) three sub-recommendations or actions, from the overall recommendation, one per page; or b) three supporting rationales - one per page-that support the overall recommendation). These three pages should also have storylines, and follow the "Q\&A" slide design, which means: 1) full statement at the top (storyline), which implies a
