This is a "Project - Training Outcomes" scenario, problem, and questions:

The Agency has trained approximately 45 direct support professionals to become DSP IIs. Direct Support Professional II provides support to adults with developmental disabilities in activities of daily living. Here are the specifics:

The training is a five month course, based upon the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services competencies for direct support professionals.

It culminates in a certification that is honored by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration. The Agency has collected data on -

• staff retention,
• course completion,
• salary or wage increases, and
• promotions that these credentialed DSPs have earned

The Problem:

The Agency does not have data on the impact that training has on the people receiving supports (Persons served).

The project outcome is:

The Agency has a data collection tool and method for capturing the impact of direct support professional training on the outcomes/goals and lives of people receiving supports.

The project outcome (questions) are:

1. No new tool or process is needed, but how would one present one's analysis of creating such a tool and method?
2. How would one implement the tool and method?
3. How would one ultimately scale it?
