This is a very difficult and awkward situation to be in. As an accountant, it is important that you are professionally honest and ethical. I would not tell my grandma anything that is not already public knowledge. As much as I love my grandma I do not want to go to prison. The SEC could find out that I was using insider information to help others. I would also encourage her to have a more diverse portfolio and not have all her money on one company. I would also recommend her a financial advisor to help her. This is way my grandma is still benefitting without me doing anything illegal.
