This is a virtual experiment, and all of the data required is provided in these instructions. For this experiment, you will need to write up the experiment in a standard lab report format.

Purpose: Study multiple series and parallel circuits with battery and lightbulb combinations. Compare the observed lightbulb "brightness" with the lightbulb current calculations. Become familiar with Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits.

Procedure: (Note: this is virtual for this class, the instructions below would be followed if this were a live class experiment)

  1. Assemble groups of 3-4 students to each team.
  2. Construct and evaluate four different electrical circuits (including switch):
    1. Single 1.5V battery, two lightbulbs in a series configuration
    2. Single 1.5V battery, two lightbulbs in a parallel configuration
    3. Two 1.5V batteries in series, two lightbulbs in a series configuration
    4. Two 1.5V batteries in series, two lightbulbs in a parallel configuration
  3. Be sure to draw each of these circuit diagrams in your report (for a, b, c, d), or use these pictures.

This is a virtual experiment, and all of the data required is

1.5V 1.5V 1.5V 1.5V 1.5V 1.5V
