This is a visual and conceptual thinking assignment. The objective is to understand how International Aid, specifically the policy agenda of Structural Adjustment, was implemented in a country in the Global South. The documentary, Life and Debt, provides a case study of these policies in Jamaica. This is a Discussion post, so your submission will be shared with the class. This assignment has three steps: 1. Watch the lecture videos and the documentary, Life and Debt. While watching the film, take notes on some of the key players in the story, and what's happening to them in terms of flows of goods or services, trade policies, loans and debt payments, labor / jobs and wages, currency, or other forms of exchange. and 2. After watching the lecture videos and the documentary, diagram the case of development in Jamaica by illustrating the flows of variables among key players (kind of like a visual flow chart / network analysis type diagram. You can draw the diagram by hand or electronically. The minimum size should be at least a standard piece of paper (8.5"x11"), but you are welcome to use larger formats if you wish. Color is also an option, though not required
