This is an Assessment of Learning Assignment required by the MBA Program Office. Please follow the instructions closely when answering the questions below. (Note: this discussion is not necessarily related to the topic of this week or this class, the assessment is put here because this class is one of the final classes you take.) One of the main goals of the MBA program is to provide you exposure and understanding into all the major functional areas in business and how they depend on and interact with each other, in order to bridge the gap in your knowledge and capability while you move up in your career. In order to test for the achievement of this goal, please answer the following two questions, using your own understanding obtained in the MBA program and your experience (not from looking up on the Internet). You need to give enough support to your point e.g. with examples esp. from your own experience, yet in a succinct way and focusing on key points (the more specific the better, and please relate as much as possible to your own experience and what you have learned from the MBA program instead of a generic discussion). 1. Please describe your understanding into five main functional areas of an enterprise, and describe what each function is in one sentence. 2. Please explain on how different functions interact with each other by giving five examples how one function can support or depend on another function and how they interact. The guidance is 1 page single spaced. Since you should use your own understanding to answer these questions, you should not use or include any references. Please note that you are evaluated on two criteria, one on content and analysis, and one on writing. Therefore it is important that you have a professional writing style.
