When joe processes the weekly payroll, he includes hours for the fictitious employee and processes the checks. The company president signs the checks and gives them to Joe to distribute. He deposits the check in an account he had opened in the fictitious person's name.

The company uses direct deposits to employees checking accounts and the fictitious check is sent to the former employee. Bonnie and her friend share the amount recieved.
