This is just another number we can use to interpret and understand data. As a reminder and in short, the interquartile range is the number you get when dealing only with the middle range of numbers. It starts from just after the end of the first quarter of numbers (when these numbers are arranged from smallest to largest) and just before the start of the last quarter. The interquartile range helps us know where the majority of numbers sit and what they are. It is the number you get when you subtract the first number from the second. It can be more reliable than other measures because it captures where the majority lie and does not take in random numbers that are much higher or much lower.
