This is not a simple question nor is this a simple assignment. You absolutely must base your paper on three primary sources from the Foner reader. You may choose which primary sources from the reader to use, so long as the sources come from chapters 16-21. Read them critically and use them-especially pithy quoted phrases-to answer the question. Although you are free to talk about historical events while analyzing the documents, you may not incorporate any other sources and should keep your attention focused on the ideas found within your select documents The assignment goals are for you to: wisely choose three sources that complement-or provocatively contrast-one another; insightfully analyze the sources and their perspectives; connect the ideas of each source to the question; write a convincing, well-supported (with quoted evidence), thesis-driven essay. Your thesis should clearly and insightfully connects all three Sources to the question and guide your essay
