This last week we learned about statistics, what it means and why it's important, but more importantly we learned about the statistical process:

Start with a question -> Collect data -> Analyze data -> Interpret the results.

We also learned about collecting data, and all that can come with it.

Let's start with some vocab we learned. There was population, parameter, sample, and statistic. The population is the group that we want information from, and the sample is a subgroup of that population. Then we have parameter and sample, which are numerical measures that come from the population and sample.

Sounds like a lot, so let's use this discussion to understand these ideas.

1. In one sentence, summarize what you learned about writing good statistical questions.

2. Why do we take a sample? Why not deal directly with the population?
