This paper will analyze an hour-long episode of reality television where groups are involved in relation to how emotion is displayed in the episode. (Survivor is ideal for this assignment since it is based upon group participation but others are out there). Are the emotion displays of the episode indicative of "real" interpersonal communication or are the emotion displays unbelievable? If they're inauthentic, why are they contradictory to what we know regarding communication? How do they affect the group dynamic? Choose reality show episode early in the week and discuss these elements within your group. In your paper, give a brief description of the reality show and scene. This synopsis should be no more than half of one page. Include a link to access the reality show used if available. The remainder of your paper should be a shared effort of how emotion in this episode is displayed and how it affects the group.
