this question based on the table

Question 5

You have prepared the following schedule for a project in which the key resource is an information kiosk. This schedule is contingent on having 4 information kiosks. You receive a call from your partner, Gates, who desperately needs one of your information kiosks. You tell Gates you would be willing to let him have the information kiosk if you are still able to complete your project in 13 months.

Figure 5-1: Network diagram

a. Develop a resource-constrained schedule in a loading chart (see below Table 5-1) to see if it is possible to complete the project in 13 months with only 3 information kiosks. Use the parallel method and heuristics used in the course examples (1: minimum slack; 2: smallest duration; 3: lowest identification number).

NB: Please track the changes in SL column (example: 210-1) as you go along the process.

Be sure to record the order in which you schedule the activities using scheduling heuristics. Activities 3 and 6 require 2 information kiosks, while activities 1, 2, 4 and 5 require 1 information kiosk. No splitting of activities is possible.

Be sure to update any changes in SL for each period. Show the final schedule in the loading chart and record the changes in the early start (ES), late finish (LF) and slack (SL) for the new schedule.

b. Can you say yes to Gates' request? Why/Why not?
