This statistical question is based on a real esate analysis subject
Hello does it make sense if I use Chi-Square in determining if two variables (One being Year Built 2001,2002,1999... with Sale Price? I am working in SPSS and I recoded the Sale Price into 3 Groups. (i.e. 200K or less = 1, 200.01K to 300K = 2, 300K and over = 3)
So essentiality my Chi Square is Years (1999,2000,2001,2002,2003...) AND SalePrice (1, 2, 3)
Does that make sense to use Chi Square to see if they are significantly related?
Or should I be using a different statistical analysis. (scatterplot?)
I also use SalePrice (1, 2, 3) and compared it with other variables such as:
Floor Number (1,2,3,4)
Orientation (North, west, east, south)
Bedrooms (1,1.5,2,3)
Bathrooms (1,1.5,2,3)
Size (Square Feets)
Sale Price / Square Feet
Does it make sense to use Chi Square ? I am trying to determine if there is association and then I am looking at the Phi to see the effect.
If it does not make sense can you please tell me what I should be using?
Thank you
