This study investigated the seroprevalence $[$meaning $-$ testing serum for antibodies$]$of$$Toxoplasma gondii$$and associated risk factors among psychiatric outpatients at the University of Gondar Comprehensive and Specialized Hospital Psychiatric clinic.$$Anti$-$Toxoplasma gondii$$antibodies were detected in $33\mathrm{.}6\%$ in the psychiatric outpatient population, compared to $16\mathrm{.}4\%$ in the control samples. Among the psychiatric outpatients, several risk factors were evaluated for association with toxoplasmosis, with the following risk ratios: Owning a cat $($RR $=2\mathrm{.}865)$: Owning a dog $($RR $=0\mathrm{.}960)$: Cleaning cat excreta from litter boxes $($RR$=2\mathrm{.}966)$: Working in an office $($RR $=1\mathrm{.}012)$: Homelessness $($RR $=1\mathrm{.}521)$: and Farming $($RR$=2\mathrm{.}058).$
