This study is a quantitative, randomized controlled trial that involved a sample size of 80 children within the age range of 6-12 years, who were scheduled for elective surgery.The research analysis was carried out using IBM-SPSS v.21 software in which descriptive statistics were used to determine the baseline variables, and the chi-square test was used for the categorical outcome variables. Additionally, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests were used to check the normality of numerical variables and the data were not normally distributed. Finally, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Kruskal-Wallis test were used for numerical variables.
