This week we have focused on the current perspectives on vocational assessment. There are several persepectives to consider when planning rehabilitation assessment. Although the principal focus of any vocational evaluation should be the determination of job readiness, this focus is developed through the understanding of consumer characteristics, the concepts of employability and placeability, and those consumer and environmental factors that may be positive or negative factors that may be positive or negative factors in teh consumer's eventual job placement. An awareness of all of these indicators lays the groundwork for the selection of appropriate assessment goals and the information needed to accomplish these objectives.
