The 31 root operations can be arranged into groups by similarities.

You will separate the root operations according to the following groups and make a reference table, sheet for coding. Use MS Word or Excel to make an organized table Make a title for the table, list by groups of similar characteristics; include columns for root operation, definition or description in your own words, PCS character, any associated suffix(es) such as -ectomy, -ostomy, -scopy, and an example in medical term and common terms.
