This week you will complete a Collaborative Negotiation, via email, with one of your fellow classmates. You will be assigned either the role of: (a) Manager of Internet Development, L.C.A. Inc.; or (b) Manager of Live8 Art Galleries.
Please carefully read the instructions below concerning the process that we will utilize this week.
Process:
(1) Group 1: Negotiation Preparation Group All students that are the Manager of Internet Development, L.C.A. will be in one Canvas group and all students who are the Manager of Live8 Art Galleries will be in another Canvas group. These are your negotiation preparation groups. You will receive facts specific to your designated role through the group content area. The facts will be posted in your group discussion. You can collaborate with the individuals in your negotiation preparation group as you plan and negotiate your case. Do not share your facts with anyone who is not in your negotiation preparation group.
(2) Group 2: Negotiation Counterpart Group. You will be paired with a classmate from the opposite side. Pairings can be found here Week 3 Collaborative Negotiations Pairings List.pdf. After reviewing your facts and preparing, you should begin negotiating with your adversary via email (Berkeley College email). The Manager of Internet Development, L.C.A. is responsible for making the initial offer via email. You should cc me on all correspondence for this assignment (alicia-williams3@berkeleycollege.edu).
Remember, during the negotiation, you are free to selectively share information with your adversary as you see fit. However, do not share your negotiation fact sheet with your adversary.
Assignment:
Upon completing your negotiation, each negotiator must submit a one-page paper that answers the following questions:
Before commencing your negotiation, what was your (a) aspiration point/target price; and (b) resistance point (bottom line)?
Did you reach an agreement?
If you reached an agreement, what are the terms of the agreement?
What was the Manager of Internet Development, L.C.A.'s initial offer?
What was the initial counteroffer of the Manager of Live 8 Art Galleries?
