This will be a comprehensive cloud computing plan that meets the needs of a fictitious company located in the Capital District of New York.

Scenario

You have been hired as the IT coordinator for a new company which is being formed: Capital District Solar Supply (CDSS)

CDSS will have its headquarters in Troy, NY and will resell solar panels and the associated parts necessary to install those panels on both residential and commercial building. CDSS will also offer installation, maintenance and repair services associated with those installations.

CDSS will see solar panels and parts from its warehouse for any walk-in customers as well as fulfil any internet orders through an online store which CDSS intends to establish. The warehouse will also house the vehicles used for serving the panels and will serve as the companys shop.

The headquarters staff will consist of the following staff:

1 General Manager

1 Receptionist/Admin Assistant

5 Sales/Accounts representatives each covering their own regions. Often out of the office conducting sales calls, etc

1 Finance Manager

1 Accounting Clerk

2 Sales Support Clerks assist the sales/accounts representatives but also handle the internet orders as well as any sales related phone calls, etc.

The warehouse/shop staff includes:

1 Warehouse Manager

1 Inventory Specialist handles inbound and outbound parts

2 Parts Specialists

3 Installation Supervisors meet in shop each day and are on the road most of the day at scheduled installations

15 Installation and Maintenance Specialists meet at shop each day and then are at customer sites.

You may assume that all staff will have windows based computers as well as company provided mobile phones. The computers will be laptops with docking stations/monitors and you can assume that wi-fi, mobile data as well as hard wired connections exist through the facility and in all offices.

For this prepare a proposed plan where you identify, based upon with regard to cloud based computing and AWS, a plan which provides the appropriate computer functionality and software.

Planned interoperation with any other applications you selected

Listing of any non-cloud application you feel are needed and why

Comprehensive Summary of costs on annual basis

Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery approach

Security Approach

Proposed Timeline (assume company formation date of January 1, 2018 as starting point)

Discussion of Tasks/resources necessary to maintain/sustain plan
