Your peers come from many different industries and, like you, may be exploring new roles or adapting to changes in their current roles. Networking with your peers will enable you to get connected and share knowledge and tips for navigating job boards and your career.

Begin by searching data analytics positions on Handshake that interest you. You may use the Handshake Guide to support your search. Read about the roles and their responsibilities, specifically taking note of the skills, educational experience, and work experience the employers are seeking from candidates.

Select one job position that interests you. In your initial post, include the following:

Job title

Organization name

A summary of the role and its responsibilities

A $2-$ to $3-$sentence description of why the job interests you

A link to the job posting so your peers can review the job and reply to the post

Networking allows you to connect with your peers by learning about their interests and goals. Review each post and respond to at least two of your peers who found different positions than you did. You may choose to respond to job postings that interest you or that you find unappealing. In response to your peers, identify the similarities and differences between each position and discuss what you learned from reviewing a different job position than the one you selected.
