Through this formative assessment, I will identify and make note of the students who are having difficulty recognizing equivalent fractions with a denominator of 10 or 100. While the students are moving around to the different corners, they will evaluate themselves and determine if they are missing several questions or if they are getting them correct. In certain formative assessments, "students develop a stronger understanding of their academic strengths and weaknesses." (Great Schools Partnership, 2014). After the game, I plan on pulling a small group of the children who struggled. During the small group, we will discuss how to find equivalent fractions, what the students did well with, and what steps the students need to develop a stronger understanding of.
