Time management is something that I am working on quite often. When it comes to working full-time
Question:
Time management is something that I am working on quite often. When it comes to working full-time and taking online courses, it is important to find a balance in the workload and keep up with time management. Being able to stay on track of my daily tasks allows me to be successful. The most effective time managements techniques I use daily include having a plan, prioritizing tasks on a to-do list, and avoiding distractions.
Having a plan or getting yourself prepared for the day ahead is a super helpful way for me to get through my day without stressing over what needs to be done and how I'm going to do those tasks. While getting ready for work every morning I think about all the things that need to be done and a lot of times I will write them down on a to-do list. Throughout the day I will physically or mentally cross off that task and doing so keeps me motivated to complete the next thing on the list.
Another thing that helps me with time management is prioritizing. As I've learned from a helpful article on Indeed titled, 9 Time Management Skills, "Assessing each of your responsibilities for priority is key in being a good time manager." I tend to organize my to-do lists based on the priority of the task. If I have important tasks that need to be done as soon as possible, then those would be at the top of the list and be completed first. Once the more important/tedious tasks are completed then I can end my day with easier and less stressful duties.
Nowadays, we practically have our cell phones glued to our hand and that has become one of the biggest distractions. Something that stuck out when reading an article posted on Business News Daily, it mentioned "A recentsurvey performed by Screen Educationshowed that employees waste, on average, more than two hours per day using their phones." When I know I have a lot of work to get done or on a tight schedule I do my best to keep my phone put away. I work in the hospital and there are certain areas where cell phones are not allowed, I've noticed that during those times I'm able to do my work twice as fast versus when I'm in an area where cell phones are allowed.
With the few time management techniques that I use daily, I can productively complete tasks. I've had the chance to help coworkers of mine and myself create weekly plans, so we know how we are going to work our accounts. We also work together to prioritize our important tasks, so they are completed right away. I would say the toughest one yet and will be the biggest hiccup when it comes to good time management is the cell phone distractions, limiting this will allow you and others to stay productive.
