Title Abstract Name Organic Molecules and Identify Functional Groups This lab is a practice lab for making organic structures and naming organic molecules. You will use your model kit and the simulations found in the classroom to become more familiar with the orientation of the atoms relative to one another. You will rotate around a sigma (single) bond to view the conformations of a molecule and explore the stability of the various conformations. You will also be naming compounds. This is a direct practice lab to form a firm foundation of naming, drawing and molecular model structures, and identifying functional groups.
